Preventing Toxicity in Stationery To Safeguard Student Health: A Comprehensive Collection Of Safety Standards

Leave a message

The quality and safety of student stationery products are crucial for the health of minors. The national standard GB21027-2020, titled "General Safety Requirements for Student Supplies," is a cornerstone of China's new stationery standards system. It provides precise and specific guidelines for manufacturers and testing departments, emphasizing safety.

This standard imposes stricter regulations on chemical hazards such as phthalates, acrylamide, and aromatic amines. It also introduces new limits on various harmful substances, aligning with regulations in the United States and the European Union, thereby enhancing the safety of student supplies and providing better health protection for minors.

In addition to GB21027-2020, several other standards specify limits on phthalates:

- QB/T2309-2020 "Erasers": This light industry standard stipulates that the content of phthalate plasticizers in erasers must not exceed 0.1%.

- T/CSSGA1001-2017 "Book Covers and Book Wraps": This standard for the educational and sports supplies industry also limits the content of phthalate plasticizers to 0.1%.

- HJ1131-2021 "Technical Requirement for Environmental Labeling Products – Pens": This national ecological environment standard specifies that the content of phthalate plasticizers in pens must not exceed 1000 mg/kg.

- T/CSSGA1008-2018 "Journals": This industry standard states that the content of phthalate plasticizers in plastic covers for journals must not exceed 0.1%.

- T/CSSGA1007-2018 "Student Compasses": This standard sets a limit of 0.1% for phthalate plasticizers in plastic components of student compasses.

- HJ572-2010 "Technical Requirement for Environmental Labeling Products – Stationery": This national environmental protection standard restricts the content of phthalate plasticizers in stationery to 0.1%.

These standards collectively help to ensure that the materials used in student stationery are safe and non-toxic, thus protecting the health of students.
