On the afternoon of May 24th, a delegation led by the Chairman of the Ningbo CPPCC visited Jia'ao Sunshine Home, a facility for people with disabilities, to conduct a research and inspection tour. They were accompanied by representatives from the Jiaxing CPPCC, Jiaxing Disabled Persons' Federation, Tongxiang CPPCC, and Tongxiang Disabled Persons' Federation.
At Jia'ao Sunshine Home, the delegation listened to the management's report on various aspects including the construction of the facility, shelter and care for people with disabilities, standardized construction, and supportive employment. They inspected the operations of various functional areas and observed the actual supportive employment activities of the employees. Additionally, they conducted comprehensive research on how the facility can leverage its advantages and its future development plans.
During the visit, the management of the facility showcased a variety of exquisite handicrafts made by the employees with disabilities, which received unanimous praise from the leaders.
The leaders engaged in friendly exchanges with the employees about work therapy, medical therapy, recreational therapy, psychological counseling, and the overall management of the facility. They inquired in detail about the employees' work and living conditions, encouraging them to maintain confidence in life and a positive and optimistic attitude.
After understanding the situation through on-site research, the leaders emphasized that the cause of people with disabilities is an indispensable part of promoting common prosperity. They highlighted the importance of continually optimizing the environment and conditions for people with disabilities to equally participate in social life, thereby enhancing their sense of gain, happiness, and security. They acknowledged the substantial work done by the facility towards the goal of "leaving no one behind in the comprehensive building of a moderately prosperous society" and praised the facility's strong sense of social responsibility and mission.
In line with the new tasks outlined in the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which calls for "improving the social security system and care service system for people with disabilities, and promoting the comprehensive development of the cause of people with disabilities," the leaders highly commended Jia'ao Sunshine Home's supportive employment model of "supporting people with disabilities through work and replacing therapy with work." They also lauded the center's "people-oriented" service philosophy.
Jia'ao Sunshine Home will continue to implement a combination of targeted assistance and supportive employment, building a common prosperity model of "one enterprise supporting multiple households, and one household increasing multiple incomes." This aims to help people with disabilities step out of their homes, break out of isolation, and integrate into society, thereby advancing steadily on the path of common prosperity.
