Recently, several companies have recalled non-compliant products primarily due to excessive phthalate plasticizers. The details are as follows:
1.Lollipop Children's Garden Shoes
-Brand/Model: Fengzhou/150/160/170/180
-Quantity: 11 pieces
-Manufacturer: Shanghai Lano Trading Co., Ltd.
-Reason for Recall: Small parts do not comply with the requirements of GB 30585-2014 "Safety Technical Specifications for Children's Shoes" for small parts that should not fit entirely into the small parts test cylinder. Total heavy metal content exceeds the GB 30585-2014 requirement of lead ≤100 mg/kg. Phthalate content exceeds the GB 30585-2014 requirement of phthalates ≤0.1 mg/kg. Small parts may pose a choking hazard, and excessive heavy metals and phthalates can harm children's health.
2.Plush Toys
-Brand/Model: Mengliang
-Quantity: 20 pieces
-Manufacturer: Inner Mongolia Mengliang Minmao (Group) Co., Ltd.
-Reason for Recall: The suction cup phthalate plasticizer content in these plush toys does not comply with the safety requirements of GB 6675.1-2014 "Safety of Toys - Part 1: Basic Code." Long-term exposure may harm children's health.
3.Toy Scooters
-Brand/Model: Maidomi/80897
-Quantity: 50 units
-Manufacturer: Pingxiang Dongtuo Children's Toy Factory
-Reason for Recall: The adjustable and foldable handlebar and stem of these toy scooters do not meet the GB 6675.12-2014 toy safety standard requirements. The plasticizer content does not comply with the GB 6675.1-2014 standard, posing an unreasonable risk to personal and property safety.
4.Children's Bicycles
-Brand/Model: Single Bend Frame 909-12
-Quantity: 6 units
-Manufacturer: Pingxiang Leitong Children's Toy Co., Ltd.
-Reason for Recall: The plasticizer content does not meet the GB 6675.1-2014 standard; the maximum limit for specific migratable elements does not meet the GB 6675.4-2014 standard. These issues pose an unreasonable risk to personal and property safety.
The Hazards of Phthalates
Phthalates are commonly used plasticizers but pose several potential health risks
Toxicity to the Male Reproductive System
Phthalates can cause testicular atrophy, significant changes in testosterone levels, reduced spermatogenesis, rapid decline in marker enzyme activity in the testes, and decreased sperm count.
01
Toxicity to the Female Reproductive System
Phthalates can affect the uterus and ovaries, potentially leading to prolonged estrous cycles, decreased progesterone levels, increased uterine weight, changes in the natural ovulation cycle, and delayed or anovulatory cycles.
02
Impact on the Blood System
Phthalates can significantly reduce hematocrit, decrease hemoglobin levels, and increase platelet adhesion.
03
Teratogenicity
Exposure to low doses of phthalates can significantly increase the probability of fetal death, cause acute toxicity to the heart, kidneys, and lungs, and potentially lead to death.
-Liver Toxicity: Phthalates can cause oxidative damage to proteins, lipid membranes, and DNA in liver cells, potentially leading to stem cell damage.
04
Carcinogenicity
Long-term exposure to phthalates can significantly increase the risk of developing malignant stem cell tumors.
05
Thus, it is crucial to use products that comply with safety standards and are made with non-toxic, phthalate-free plasticizers. Our company's products (J388 series, JDCH888 series, JDCH999 series) use eco-friendly plasticizers that do not contain DEHP, BBP, DBP, DIBP, or other toxic substances. They have passed relevant SGS RoHS certifications. For detailed product testing information, scan the QR code below to view and download.
