This product can be used for all PVC products. Such as all kinds of food packaging materials, medical products, various films, sheets, pipes, refrigerator seals, artificial leather, floor leather, plastic wallpaper, wire and cable and other daily plastic products, etc. Epoxidized soybean oil can also be used in special inks, Paints, coatings, synthetic rubber and liquid compound stabilizers, etc.

A New Process for the Production of Epoxidized Soybean Oil

1. Reaction mechanism

Epoxidized soybean oil is a process that uses hydrogen peroxide to contain a slight acidity, which plays a triggering role at a certain temperature. The added stabilizer has a stabilizing effect on the generated peroxyformic acid, ensuring that the oxygen atoms released by the peroxyformic acid can fully contact the unsaturated bonds in the soybean oil, so that the epoxidation reaction proceeds toward the product. Its reaction formula is simple.

2. Process flow

Add soybean oil, formic acid, stabilizer and trace sulfuric acid to the epoxidation kettle, and dropwise add hydrogen peroxide to react with stirring. Since the whole system is an exothermic reaction, cooling water is used to control the reaction temperature, so that the epoxidation reaction is carried out between 60°C and 70°C. After the reaction is terminated, it is left to stand for layers, and after the mother liquor is separated, it is washed with a dilute alkali solution, and then washed with soft water until it becomes neutral. The oil layer is pumped into the dehydration kettle, and the product is obtained after the water content in the oil is removed by vacuum. The process of epoxidized soybean oil is simple.
