Recently, the Shanghai Market Supervision Bureau conducted a supervision and inspection on 40 batches of infant and children's shoes from 40 different brands. Seven batches were found to be non-compliant, resulting in a non-compliance rate of 17.5%.
The inspection tested for 13 major categories, including decomposable harmful aromatic amine dyes, formaldehyde, total heavy metal content, dimethyl fumarate, N-nitrosamines in rubber components, color fastness to friction in linings and insoles, hexavalent chromium in leather and fur, outsole wear resistance, chlorophenol content, outsole hardness, pH value, and more. The non-compliant items in this inspection were related to physical mechanical safety performance (physical safety performance) and phthalates, both of which are subject to national mandatory standards.

Relevant National Standards
According to the GB30585-2014 "Technical Specifications for Safety of Children's Shoes," the content of phthalate plasticizers must be ≤0.1%.
Dangers of Phthalates
- Toxicity to the Male Reproductive System: Mainly manifests as testicular toxicity, including severe testicular atrophy, significant changes in testosterone levels, reduced spermatocytes, rapid decline in testicular marker enzyme activity, and reduced sperm count.
- Toxicity to the Female Reproductive System: Phthalates have toxicological effects on the uterus and ovaries, potentially leading to extended estrous cycles, decreased progesterone levels, increased uterine weight, altered natural ovulation cycles, and causing delayed or anovulatory cycles.
- Effects on the Blood System: Significant reduction in hematocrit, marked decrease in hemoglobin content, and increased platelet adhesion.
- Teratogenicity: Studies have shown that exposure to low doses of phthalates significantly increases the probability of stillbirth. Acute poisoning can also cause cardiotoxicity, nephrotoxicity, and pneumotoxicity, leading to death.
- Liver Toxicity: Phthalates cause oxidative damage to proteins, liver cell membrane lipids, and DNA in cells, and can even damage stem cells.
- Carcinogenicity: Long-term exposure to phthalates significantly increases the risk of developing malignant stem cell tumors.
All of our products (JDCH888 series, JDCH999 series) use phthalate-free eco-friendly plasticizers and do not contain DEHP, BBP, DBP, DIBP, and other toxic substances. They have passed relevant tests and certifications such as SGS RoHS. You can scan the QR code below to view and download related product testing information.
