Production Process Of Epoxidized Soybean Oil

Leave a message

Epoxidized soybean oil (abbreviated as ESO) is an organic substance with excellent heat resistance, light resistance and solubility. It is often used as a plasticizer in PVC products, especially for PVC transparent products, food packaging products, and other non-toxic products. Toxic products.

The preparation method of epoxy soybean oil can be divided into the solvent method and solvent-free method:

1. Solvent method

Since hydrogen peroxide or hydrogen peroxide decomposes at high temperatures, in the presence of formic acid, formic acid and hydrogen peroxide form formic acid, which react with soybean oil to form epitaxial soybean oil and reduce peroxy formic acid to formic acid. The reaction should be controlled at a relatively low temperature, usually at room temperature, with benzene as the medium.

Put 1000kg of soybean oil, 140kg of formic acid, 3kg of sulfuric acid and 350kg of benzene into the acid-proof tank reactor, stir and mix well, slowly add 40% hydrogen peroxide, control the reaction temperature to if necessary, let the cooling water pass through the reactor to cool, After adding hydrogen peroxide, stir for a period of time until the reaction temperature starts to drop. After 11 hours, measure the acid value, and stop when it drops below 6. Reaction, the reaction reached the end.

Stand still to separate the reaction liquid from the waste acid water in the lower layer, neutralize the oil layer with 2% to 5% lye, then wash with water to neutrality, and separate the oil layer after separating the water. The residual product is removed by vacuum distillation, low boiling point substances and water are removed, and then the final product is obtained by pressure filtration. The distillate at about 107°C/2~3mmHg is the product of evaporated soybean oil.

Raw material consumption: 1,000 kg of soybean oil, 670 kg of hydrogen peroxide (40%), 140 kg of methanol (85%), and 70 kg of benzene consumed per ton of product.

2. Solvent-free method

First add soybean oil, acetic acid, and ion exchange resin into the reactor, then slowly add 30% H2O2 with stirring, the amount is 50~70% of soybean oil, the reaction is carried out at 50~70℃, and heat is generated by using cooling water The reaction was removed, and the reaction time was 8 hours. The reaction liquid flowing out of the reactor was filtered through a filter to remove the catalyst residue, the upper oil phase was put into the neutralization tank, and 2 was used for neutralization. ~5% Na2CO3 aqueous solution, layer the electrostatic neutralization solution, remove the water phase, and then wash several times with water. After washing, add the oil phase to the concentration kettle, distill the entrained water and obtain lithographic soybean oil under vacuum.

Raw material consumption: 982 kg of soybean oil, 590 kg of hydrogen peroxide (30%), 196 kg of acetic acid, 29.4 kg of catalyst, 100 kg of sodium carbonate aqueous solution (40%), 45 tons of water, 300 kg of steam and 100kW·h per ton of product Electricity consumption.
