Hazards of Phthalates

Toxicity to the male&female reproductive system

Manifestations include significant testicular atrophy, changes in testosterone levels, a decrease in spermatogenic cells, rapid decline in testicular enzyme activity, and reduced sperm count.

Phthalate compounds can affect the uterus and ovaries, potentially leading to extended estrous cycles, reduced progesterone levels, increased uterine weight, altered natural ovulation cycles, and delayed or anovulatory cycles.

01

Effects on the blood system

Significant reduction in hematocrit, a noticeable decline in hemoglobin content, and a marked increase in platelet adhesion.

02

Teratogenicity

Research shows that exposure to low doses of phthalate compounds can significantly increase the likelihood of fetal death, while acute exposure may result in heart, kidney, and lung toxicity, leading to fatal outcomes.

03

Liver toxicity

Phthalate compounds cause oxidative damage to proteins, liver cell membrane lipids, and DNA, and may even result in stem cell damage.

04

Carcinogenicity

Long-term exposure to phthalate compounds greatly increases the risk of malignant stem cell tumors.
